Review: The World Ends With You | Teenage drama

The first time I saw The World Ends With You was back when it was titled It's A Wonderful World and had no plans of a UK release date, and I was in love. It's quirkiness. It's unique look. A DS game that had caught my attention in a way that nothing really had done since Mario Kart. But then doubt set in. I wanted to protect my fragile expectations. I become concerned that the sharp art style would out-do the substance. And that behind the A-grade looks, would like an F grade game. After all, Square Enix y'all. Fast-forward, and I had the game. A look at the art style of Last window

Hotel dusk & Last window are known for the unique art styles, which utilize rotoscoping. Or to be really to the point and use a pop reference: used the same style as A-Ha's "Take on me" music video. Nintendo offer a behind the scenes look at the whole process during the development of Hotel Dusk 's sequel: Last window . Rotoscoping in traditional 2D animation is a pain staking process. But the end result is amazing when it's done right. The use of it for Snow White's animation in Walt Disney's feature was ground breaking at the time, and it still looks amazing to me even now. I had no idea that so much went into creating the art for Hotel Dusk. It seems like it was a big under taking. But the way the guy was sketching over the pictures so quickly and effortlessly made it all look so bloody easy. The character designs in Hotel dusk were all very distinguished and very memorable. It's looking like Last window will be no different.
