Kingdom Hearts III?

Kingdom Hearts III? [by Random J ;P]
Tetsuya Nomura has finally spoken out about Kingdom Hearts III. We all know full well the game will come at some point. But right now the KH team's priority is Final Fantasy Versus XIII - which will probabaly end up being Kingdom Hearts without the Disney, and act as a set of foundations for Kingdom Hearts III. Here's what the zip, buckle and jewellery obsessed SqEnix man had to say...
About the next title, Kingdom Hearts III depends on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, but development of the next title is already underway. There are two titles other than Kingdom Hearts III in conception, and I think I’ll release one within this year.
What games could these be? Will they ever see the light of day? Are these 2 games Kingdom Hearts related spin-off's by any chance? Whatever the game, you can bet the characters will be pretty, and be decked out in all manner of zips, buckles, chains and spikey hair. That much is guaranteed.

Kingdom Hearts is hot property at Square Enix. It's sold phenomenally well, and has a loyal fanbase. So it goes without saying that the series will go on as long as the fans keep buying it. But I personally would really like the story to end at some point. I was hoping they'd end it with III, but I guess not. Sometimes it's good to just end a good thing whilst it's good and people still love it. Especially a game like Kingdom Hearts, which set up a story that at some point will need to end. It would be a shame for Kingdom Hearts to just get run into mediocrity. I want the story to conclude because I like it that much, not because I don't.

I'll be expecting a Kingdom Hearts III teaser to be snuck into Versus XIII. I think you should too.

  1. You know my heart stopped the second I saw that title and logo. First thing that popped in my mind "DID THEY FINALLY ANNOUNCE IT?!?!"

Development is already underway though? Interesting. I can't wait to find out more. I'm with you though, I really hope SE don't go releasing titles left and right just for the hell of it. Because after a while, quality will be lost, and that will suck.

  2. "You know my heart stopped the second I saw that title and logo"

    It worked then. *lol*

  3. Did you do that logo? If so your art never fails to impress me :D
Tetsuya Nomura has been a coy little bitch about KH3 for a while now. He knows we want news yet he's not giving it to us! Still, at least Birth By Sleep is still something to look forward to.
It'd be nice if they wrapped up Sora's story then maybe moved onto the next generation's key blade masters, and introduce newer Disney characters (such as Tiana from The Princess and The Frog).

  4. *goes all coy* Yeah... I did the logo. *blushes*

Nomura mentioned also that Sora will always be the hero in the games. But this obviously doesn't mean we can't have other characters. Look at Birth by sleep and 365/2 days - where technically Sora IS still the hero really, it's just you're playing as characters in the wake of what he's done. So they could work around it. I just don't want Kingdom Hearts to be this constant stream of never ending sequels and spin-off's - because the story (as unnecessarily convoluted and all over the damn place as it is) is a really good one, and I'd love to see how it ends.

It would have been pretty amazing if it all ended how Kingdom Hearts 1 ended - with Kairi and Sora having to be apart for the sake of Kingdom Hearts. That ending had me shocked and on the verge of tears once "Simple and clean" kicked in. *LOL*

  5. lol @ J almost crying at the KH ending. That shit was amazing! I remember first seeing it, and the music kicked in the second Sora's hand left hers. It was perfect.

I really, really, really want to play Birth By Sleep.

  6. Oh shut up with your laughing *lol* I know you be spinning your copies of Kingdom Hearts on the end of your d*** - because you stan for Kingdom Hearts so bad *lol* ;P And don't say you don't because you do.

*puts on southern drawl, with a detected tone of wanting...* "I lurrrrrrrrrve me some Kingdom Hearts"

    ;D

That ending was emotional. And I was not prepared for "Simple and clean" to drop the way it did. The ending was so damn good, that I was kind of bitter-sweet about the sequel. Because I felt that ending was so spot on, and the perfect unexpected way for the story to end. Not like that happy ever after 'let's all frolic up on the beach and hug in in the sunlight' rubbish in Kingdom Hearts II's ending.

  7. The ending to KH1 was great, one of my personal favourites - and completely unexpected. With anything involving Disney you'd expect a happy ending; not one involving Sora being separated from his crush and his best mate being trapped behind the door of darkness! And just when Utada brings you to your knees and you think it's all over, the dark trailer for KH2 plays! I was speechless during the entire thing the first time I saw it!

I'm looking forward to Birth by Sleep 'cos I've heard many good things about it, plus my PSP has been neglected lately.

  8. I wasn't really laughing AT you...more like a chuckle, because the ending WAS that damn good. SE struck gold with Hikki singing the themes for those games. While the ending to KHII wasn't as good as KH1, once again, the music was spot on. And once again, I got chills. Just hearing the "ah ha ah ah ah ahhhhh..." with the piano was fantastic and made the ending better than what it really was.

A major part of me playing KH1 so many times (like 10, not even kidding, lol) was the ending and the music. That was also my first introduction to Utada Hikaru. The second I heard "When you walk away..., I was like Who is that?!?!

@lilithdarkstorm, I too have heard good things about BBS. It's really the main reason I want a PSP. But if I get one, it'll have to be a 3000. Aint no way in hell am I paying for a PSPGo, with the crazy high price, and the shitty support Sony is giving it ATM.

Black refiners. We’ve gotta talk about that Milchick and Drummond moment in the Severance episode, “The After Hours”.

So, I’m watching season 2 of Severance. And as I post this, the ninth episode of the season “The After Hours” has just aired. And I really wanna talk about it. Well, I wanna talk about one moment in particular — Milchick and Drummond’s lil’ chat. Probably one of my favourite moments of the episode, which felt like the culmination of lots of Milchick moments diverging — adding a new wrinkle to a story and a world which already has more wrinkles than a newborn Shar Pei. Severance has made a commentary on a lot of things. Corporate shenanigans. Abuse of power dynamics. Sexisism. Homophobia. Religion. Consent. Control. And now I guess we can add race to the mix. Full disclaimer. To fully pre-empt and prevent being branded a liar and being misleading — the images in this post with subtitles are not official subtitles from Severance. They are subtitles I slapped on the images for extra effect and humour’s sake, in the vein of ‘What would these characters want to actually say’. I am including...

Nintendo and the Switch 2 pricing shenanigans

I am one of the few people in existence who does not own a Nintendo Switch. Y’all. Even my mum owns a Nintendo Switch. It’s crazy, because I have been with Nintendo through thick and thin and owned near-enough all of their systems. Nintendo has been a constant presence in my life. But the Wii and the Wii U left a sour taste in my mouth which made me apprehensive about buying a Switch. And because I had Mario Kart 8 and Breath of the Wild on Wii U, I had no real incentive to buy a Switch early on. And then there was the Joy-Con drift issue which was a thing from the very beginning. But by the time the Switch had blossomed into this great system with a fantastic library of games, I figured ‘I’ll just get the rumoured Switch Pro when it drops’. Of course I knew this probably wouldn’t be the name, but I was adamant that a revised version of the Switch would release at some point and hopefully Nintendo woulda fixed them damn Joy-Cons. System redesigns mid-way through a console life cycle ha...

Game Review: Final Fantasy VII Remake | The Real Housewives of Avalanche

So, originally I had written part of this as a '7 days with Final Fantasy VII Remake' piece, because I had thoughts that I felt compelled to type and share with all 2 people who know of this wasteland of blog. But I was so close to the end and had heard 'whispers' about the ending to this game, so figured I should just complete the damn thing so I can talk about all the things. And now here I am. Ready to talk about it all. This Review will be chock-a-block full of spoilers. So if you've not played the game yet, then read on at your own risk.
