The Resident Evil 3 remake is real y'all! Prayers up for Jill.

I'm back. For now. Posting in this desolate landscape of a blog . [Cackles loudly] Very few things bring me out of blog retirement, but Resident Evil is apparently one of those things. I love me some Resident Evil. The original version of Resident Evil 2 is one of my favourite Resident Evil games, followed by 3. And following on from the this years' release of the Resident Evil 2 remake, we will also be getting a Resident Evil 3 remake on April 3, 2020. The shock for me isn't even that the remake is happening. Rumours were abound not long after the Resident Evil 2 remake released. And then the box art leaked a few weeks ago. The shock is that damn release date. April. 2020. That's soon, bitch. REAL soon. I wasn't a huge fan of the Resident Evil 2 remake . I didn't think that it was bad. There were just things about it that I didn't like. But I honestly feel that it was more a reflection of my tolerance and playing levels for videogames just gett...

I'm not falling for 'Titanfall'

When Titanfall was shown off at E3 some people were soiling their underpants and tweeting out 3 word acronyms for how amazing the game looked. Others were sat motionless with a tear running down their cheek in a state of melancholic bliss. Some where completely oblivious to it all and only caught the wake of the aftermath and then proceeded to not really care about the game at all. The later was me. Yep. I was that guy. News of the Infinity ward debacle caught my attention in a big way and gave an insight into just how easy it can be for a studio to be implode regardless of the successes that those exiled had brought to it. It brought to light the reminder that there are people and driving forces behind these games we play and that politics play heavily into everything and can cull something in the blink of an eye. For this, I cared quite a bit. But in terms of what it meant for the Call of duty series, I didn't care for shit. I have never been a CoD fan. I know they say you sho...

Sonic generations. Has potential. Naturally, concerned.

I played the Sonic generations demo today and I really like it! Playing as the little pot bellied Sonic I remember from the Mega Drive days, and whizzing around the lavish Green hill was great fun. I was lovingly google eyed in all of that good nostalgic shit. But of course, one has to be weary of Sega and their Sonic the hedgehog  game demos. I really liked the Sonic unleashed demo and thought it was all kinds of amazing. I even considered buying it. But oh, how Sonic team swiftly sucker punched me with disappoint when I played that full game. A playable stretchy limbed werewolf and QTE sections of death. Really!? It would be nice if Sonic team delivered with this game. It's bad enough what they've done to "modern Sonic" over the years without tainting old school Sonic in the process. I still like him, dammit!

I has dreams and screenshots of Shenmue 3

I've been wanting a new Shenmue game for so long. The first two games were flawed to Osama's hideout and back, but they were great games which played unlike no other. The first game sucked me in completely. And I failed assignments and starved myself down to a size 1 for the second. If I were to have a list of recommended games to play before you die, Shenmue 1 and 2 would most definitely be on it. The ending to Shenmue 2 somehow managed to go all mystical and Final Fantasy- like to the point where I seriously expected Shen-hua to summon an Aeon. But it cliff-hung in a way which was so abrupt, WTF? -worthy and made me want the next game so badly - that I dropped my controller on the floor, which sent my VMU flying underneath a bookshelf. Resulting in me having to do the entire final section again because my save messed up. I wanted Shenmue 3 to take me whilst I was on all fours scrambling to find my VMU and just give it to me there and then. That's ho...

J's thoughts on... The PlayStation Move

Nintendo got punched, jacked, raped in the arsehole and pissed in the face by Sony. They actually went and copied the Wii remote flat out. Nunchuk and everything! I honestly would have thought that Sony would have gone the Natal route and that Microsoft would've swagger jacked Nintendo's peripheral. But tables have turned, and we have what we have now. I'm not 100% sold on PlayStation Move. Not because the product looks bad or I'm harbouring fanboy love for Nintendo or anything. But Nintendo has already pretty much done all there is to do with this kind of peripheral. We've had everything from action games, shooting games, party games, boxing games, driving games, RPG's, dressing Barbie and My little Pony with this shit. What extra ground is there for Sony to cover? The only difference with the PS3 having these same controls is that the games will look much, much better than anything could ever look on the Wii. Nintendo's saving grace (and also their own d...
