I had decided to stop playing through Mass effect 3 and return to Mass effect 2 last week. I wasn't particularly happy with this given that I had bought Mass effect 3, started playing it and all of my friends are currently plowing through it. But it had to be done. Why? Because of that racist skank Ashley. It wouldn't be a problem if she opened her legs and not her mouth, but she has to have her mouth running and her legs open like Lamborghini suicide doors. She makes me sick.
You see, the first time I went through Mass effect 1 I decided to be chivalrous and save her in that adventure defining moment on Virmire when you have to decide the fate of one of your most trusted team mates and friends. Mass effect 2 came around, I bumped into her, she was rude, disrespectful, still a racist. Mass effect 3, the bitch is back. Rude, more disrespectful, still racist, giving my favourite blue hoe Liara side eye. I got sick of her stank attitude, so I decided to put an end to it once and for all. I played through Mass effect 1, left that bitch to burn on Virmire and then made my way through Mass effect 2. I did this for Kaidan. I'd always regretted leaving him to die that day. So went back and made it right. All without a Historia crux and a white stuffed animal with a magic wand passed down from Flava flav.
I could have just started Mass effect 3 with a fresh new game (which I had), but it didn't feel the same. Knowing I'd played the first two games, but was playing the third without any of that accounted for, I didn't like it. I figured I'd try. See if I could convince myself I could still enjoy the game knowing a history I'd created had no bearing here. But I'd noticed from the outset that the game doesn't present you with as many branching conversations if you play with a fresh new game file. It makes a lot of choices for you. And it was clear that this was going to spread to the bigger decisions you'd made in the past two games, such as things concerning the Rachni queen, the Geth and how many survivors you made it out of the suicide mission with.
I wanted the full Mass effect 3 experience which rewards gamers for having played the first two. After all, it was seeing a trailer for Mass effect 3 which made me decide I was going to play the first two games in the first place. So I did just that. Played through Mass effect 2 all over again. It wasn't so bad though. Because Mass effect 2 is a bloody good game. And having played the shit out of the multiplayer in Mass effect 3, I'm much more nifty with the combat than I was before. Although I missed the storming and dem rolls. And I have to say, as much as I loved Mass effect 2, I had more fun going back through the first. Controversial, I know. Here's a bit more for you. I'd so sleep with Kaidan if he were real. Udina is a cunt.

J you were the reason why I started playing mass effect. I'm at the citadel at the moment, just finished visiting Kaidan for the first time at the Huerta Hospital. I had to give Liara unfortunately the boot, it hurt as fuck to do that, but I need to get in a relationship with Kaidan. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd I obviously didn't hesitate once to leave that racist bitch to fry in Virmire.
Love it. Can't wait to get home to continue with my play-through. And yes Udina is a cunt. I'm so pissed, if throwing down the balcony from his office in the Citadel was an option I'd be doing it in a heartbeat.
So far my fave characters are, of course Shepard, Liara, Grunt, Wrex, Kasumi, Garrus, Thane & Tali(I <3 him, why can't there be a medicine to cure his illness???). I can't really stand Miranda, but I had sex with her because I knew I would break Tali's heart in Mass Effect 3, and Miranda was an upgrade to Ashley but she still was a bit of a spoiled bitch.
Jacob doesn't really count to my fav characters, but I can't see why you hate him so much?
Oh and what do you think of EDI and Joker's relationship? I think their so adorable.
Eithway thanks for your Gaming-journals they highlight my working days.
How long did it take you to go through Mass Effect 2 again? Doesn't seem like very long.
ReplyDeleteI got through it in a week. I ploughed through it though. It wasn't as thorough a play-through as my first.
